❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Got Questions? We've Got Answers.
Everything you need to know about CipherCoreHub's security, features, and privacy.
🔐 Is my data really safe?
+
Yes. All encryption, decryption, and password generation happens entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. Your plaintext, encryption keys, and passwords never leave your device. We have no servers to store your data, and we don't use any analytics or tracking.
🔑 What happens if I lose my encryption key?
+
Your encrypted data will be permanently unrecoverable. We do not store your keys anywhere. That's why we provide an Export button – please save your key securely (e.g., in a password manager or offline storage).
🛡️ What encryption algorithm do you use?
+
We use AES-256-GCM (Advanced Encryption Standard with 256-bit keys in Galois/Counter Mode). This is the same standard used by the US government for top-secret data. It provides both confidentiality and authentication.
🍪 Does CipherCoreHub use cookies?
+
We only use local storage to remember your dark mode preference. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party cookies. No personal data is ever stored.
📱 Can I use CipherCoreHub on my phone?
+
Yes! The site is fully responsive and works on mobile devices. All features (password generation, encryption, QR codes) work on iOS and Android browsers.
🌐 Does it work offline?
+
Once you've loaded the page while online, you can disconnect from the internet and all tools will continue to work because everything runs locally in your browser.
💰 Is CipherCoreHub really free?
+
Yes. All core features are completely free. We may add optional premium features in the future, but the encryption toolkit will remain free forever.
📤 Can you see the files I upload?
+
No. When you upload a file for encryption/decryption, it is processed entirely within your browser using JavaScript. The file is never uploaded to any server. You can verify this by disconnecting your internet after the page loads.
🔄 How do I update the encryption key?
+
Click the "New" button under the Encryption Hub to generate a random 256-bit key. You can then export it using the "Export" button. Warning: Changing the key will make previously encrypted data unreadable.
🎯 Is this for personal or business use?
+
Both! CipherCoreHub is suitable for personal use (securing passwords, encrypting notes) and business use (sharing encrypted messages, generating secure credentials).
📜 What's your refund policy?
+
Since CipherCoreHub is completely free to use, there's nothing to refund. If we introduce paid features in the future, a clear refund policy will be provided.
🔧 Can I contribute or report bugs?
+
Absolutely! Email us at ciphercorehubmail@gmail.com with bug reports, feature suggestions, or security concerns. We review every submission.
